Position Summary

The Rescue Mission is seeking a part-time Community Clothing Center Associate to work 25 hours per week in our new Community Clothing Center on our Main Campus in Syracuse. This position will work Monday through Friday 10am – 2pm with Saturday, Sunday, and holidays off. The Community Clothing Center (CCC) Associate serves customers by displaying, promoting, sizing, and coordinating closing procedures. This position assists CCC management with running an efficient and service-oriented center. The CCC Associate promotes Rescue Mission while building relationships with customers.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provides customer service by greeting the customer with a smile and hello, providing information, and answering questions.
• Displays products by stocking shelves, counters, racks and tables, as needed.
• Collects pertinent client information and input into database.
• Maintains the clean and orderly condition of the center.
• Assists with sorting through donations.
• Contributes by displaying a team attitude.
• Assists with identifying and reporting issues to the CCC management.
• Supports the Rescue Mission by agreeing to work within the parameters of the Mission and Vision statements.
• Promotes a safety-first attitude by setting a positive example and ensuring all employees are following safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Regular and predictable in-person attendance is an essential requirement of the job

Requirements

• High School diplomas or GED certificate preferred
• Previous human service experience preferred
• Previous retail experience preferred
• Previous customer-service experience preferred
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Must have a valid Driver’s license
• Customer-service oriented
• Must be able to use a computer
• Manages time efficiently
• Ability to stand for long hours
• Lifting and transferring clothes from rack to rack.
• Unloading truck shipments and pushing racks.
• Maintaining a clean work environment.

• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Ability to operate POS system and follow cash control procedures
• Ability to handle stress professionally and in public
• Ability to work in an unsupervised atmosphere
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Pay

$15 per hour.
