Position Summary

Janitor is responsible for keeping offices, buildings, and facilities in clean and orderly condition. Duties may include performing unscheduled activities, notifying management of the need for servicing and additional cleaning, Janitor is responsible for reviewing chemicals and using properly.

Job Functions

• Perform periodic cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass and removing rubbish.
• Responsible for checking off takes daily to ensure the area was cleaned and building was completed.
• Mix water and detergents in containers according to product specifications to prevent damage to floors, fixtures or furniture and dispensing chemicals in bottles with correct labels.
• Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming.
• Gathers and empties trash to include trashcans in the proximity of exterior main entrances.
• Services, supplies and cleans restrooms
• Cleans and polishes furniture, drinking fountains, windows, glass partitions and mirrors using appropriate cleaning products and sponges
• Dusting of office furniture, walls, machines and equipment.
• Spot clean or shampoo carpets; strip, seal, finish and polish floors.
• Drives vehicles (vans) for travel to various work sites.
• May have to move equipment and supplies either manual or by using a hand truck.
• Notifies lead and/or manager of need of any major equipment repairs or additions needed in custodial services.
• Informs lead and/or manager of supplies and equipment needed for cleaning or maintenance duties.
• Wash, dry and fold rags and towels – all team members are responsible
• Represents Company at all times with professionalism & a commitment to quality.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• One (1) year of related janitorial experience, preferred
• Must be able to pass a criminal background security investigation in order to work in assigned areas.
• Ability to follow basic operation instructions
• Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of assigned tasks
• Must have ability to maintain assigned work hours
• Hold a valid driver’s license
• Ability to read, write and understand English Ability to follow policies and procedures
• Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, and reach repetitively
• Must have sufficient endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular basis
• Work is performed primarily in the buildings, may need to travel between building, some equipment may have a higher noise level, and working with cleaning chemicals.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.28 per hour
