Surgery Center at Jensen Beach is looking for a dynamic person to join our team.

The Orderly/Tech is responsible for assisting, as directed by the nursing personnel in the Pre-operative, PACU and Operating Room areas. The Orderly will assist the Materials Manager with stocking of supplies. Previous experience in medical setting preferred. Ability to multi task and work at a fast pace is important.

This position is Monday thru Friday, no nights, call or weekends.

Duties:

  • Assist in patient transport and positioning as directed.
  • Assist as directed by OR RNs and Scrub tech with set-up, cleaning and turnover of rooms including terminal cleaning.
  • Assist in patient transport and positioning as directed.
  • Assist in restocking rooms and supplies as directed by Operating Room Charge Nurse.
  • Assist in general housekeeping activities in pre-op and PACU areas as directed by the nursing staff.
  • Assist materials manager with inventory management, and putting away supplies.
  • Maintains positive and proactive interpersonal relationships with physicians, patients and center staff.
  • Adheres to safety policies and procedures in performing job duties.
  • Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic building maintenance

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Current BLS certification
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
  • Understand principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic building maintenance
  • Previous experience in medical setting preferred.
  • Requires ability to move quickly in response to physician and patient needs, to stand for long periods, occasional overhead and low reaching, and to exert force of up to 50 lbs. occasionally, up to 20 lbs. frequently and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
