We're looking for Certified Teachers to join the Education department at our youth residential campus in Flourtown, PA!


Carson Valley Children’s Aid
residential campus provides safe, structured care for adolescents. We help youth to develop skills that will allow for a positive transition into adulthood in their communities. As a member of our Education team, you will play an essential role in ensuring that residents receive the academic support they need to thrive while at CVCA!


Subject Areas:
Math, Science, and English teachers needed. Must be certified to teach grades 7-12. Emergency certifications are acceptable.


Vaccination Requirements:
Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (2 doses Moderna/Pfizer or 1 dose J&J).


Role Type:
Part-time


Work Schedule:
4 hours a day, two days per week. 2 teachers needed Monday and Wedneaday 7:30am - 11:30am

2 teachers needed Tuesday and Thursday 7:30am- 11:30am


Work Setting:
Educational buildings at our youth campus in Flourtown, PA


Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide instruction to improve students’ academic success through a defined course of study.
  • Prepare written materials to document student progress and meet mandated requirements (e.g. lesson plans following scope and sequence, correspondence with parents and students, exams and quizzes, attendance records, anecdotal records, etc.).
  • Develop and administer assessments to determine student competency levels and/or develop individual learning plans.
  • Monitor students in a variety of environments (e.g. classrooms, school grounds, hallways, field trips, etc.) and manage behavior to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Provide regular feedback to students, parents/guardians, and administration.
  • Advise parents/guardians regarding student progress and achievements, classroom expectations, and methods to reinforce classroom goals at home.
  • Collaborate with other staff, parents/guardians, and community members to improve the quality of student outcomes.
  • Report incidents to maintain the personal safety of students and adhere to state law.
  • Respond to emergency situations, directing to appropriate personnel for resolution as needed.
  • SCIENCE TEACHERS ONLY: Work with Career & Academic Counselor to provide high school students with an allied health curriculum, leading interested students toward a career in the medical field.


Role Requirements:

  • Pennsylvania teaching certification for grades 7-12 in English, Math, and/or Science (required; emergency certifications are acceptable)
  • Bachelor’s degree (required)
  • Valid driver’s license, daily access to a reliable vehicle, and car insurance (required)

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to keep concise records
  • Sensitivity to the developmental stages and wellbeing of children
  • Willingness to be flexible with teaching assignments
