ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Enters purchase orders into the system.
- Provides general administrative support such as answering phones, greeting customers, providing customer service to vendors and customers.
- Maintains signed vendor contracts.
- Notifies sales/customer service concerning product delays.
- Replies to the emails received by Vendors.
- Maintains purchase order data.
- Reviews and resolves supplier invoice discrepancies.
- Files damage claims with freight companies or vendors.
- Maintains contact with vendors regarding orders and merchandise, new products, market conditions, and trends.
- Prepares credits and returns of all rejected product.
- Follows all company safety policies and procedures.
- Responds to change productively and handles other duties as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 3 years in the seafood
- Preferred: Customer Service, Vendor Portal knowledge
- Excited and motivated to grow with a company
- Resourceful and detail oriented
- Have top notch communication skills
- Intermediate Excel skills and 10 key data entry
- Problem solving skills

OTHER:
**Year round position (Busy Season: May - September) off season projects possibly remotely October - April.
Working Conditions: Some time is spent in the plant where conditions are cold, wet, and noisy with slick walking surfaces. Authorized to halt production of a particular product should a problem arise. Some product purchase circumstances require extended evening hours and performing follow-up on product delivery may require making calls from home. Purchasing of imported products may require that business be conducted internationally during late hours due to differences in time zones. Must travel as necessary to arrange product purchases.
Decision Making: Assists management in establishing annual procurement plan which may require cost analysis for procuring certain key products. Has decision making ability to buy products daily to cover sales commitments. Analyzes available information when making product purchases and determines the financial impact of each purchase as it relates to profits.
Financial Responsibility: Maintains purchases and expenses. Confidentiality required for access to proprietary, financial, personnel and strategic information.
