Shift Requirements
Rotating 12 hour Shifts

Position Summary
Assist and support the Operator in keeping the equipment running efficiently.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

• Demonstrate commitment to safety and performs job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
• Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements
• Determine the best manufacturing method to produce product efficiently and effectively
• Assist with set-ups and operation of the printing press
• Maintain high efficiency according to established rates during operation of the assigned equipment
• Troubleshoot and make decisions regarding the quality of finished product
• Complete required quality inspections and paperwork
• Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance
• Contribute to overtime needs to meet customer demands
• Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned press and surrounding area
• Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements
• Actively participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives
• Become certified as back-up Secondary Operator (must start training with operator by 6 months in position and complete training checklist by 12 months in position)
• Act as Secondary Operator during vacations, leave of absences, etc., on all shifts as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Education Required
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Education Desired
Technical Degree

Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities Desired

• Possess the ability to blend and color match ink
• Good computer skills
• Must be able to rotate shifts and work overtime (including weekends)
• Possess the ability to take direction, work with supervision, and work well within a team
• Good verbal and written communication

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs. Mechanical assist or team lift, as appropriate, should be used for any weight in excess of 50lbs
• Ability to stand for up to 12 hours per day, six days per week
• Ability to see and distinguish colors
