Zachry Group is currently looking for a talented and experienced Project Manager to join our Project Management Department in Hammond, Indiana. You will have the opportunity to manage a diversified portfolio of projects for multiple long-term clients. These projects may include brownfield, greenfield, retrofit, or debottlenecking / expansion. Industries can include oil and gas, petrochemical, chemicals, biofuels, renewable energy, industrial, and food and beverage industry with a focus on oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical, and industrial. All these projects involve management of multiple engineering disciplines and vendor management from early phases of project through commissioning.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute of all aspects of the project including managing the staff, providing vision and strategic leadership, monitoring project schedules and budgets, evaluating project productivity and quality and directing the complete technical operations of the project.
- Develop and implement administrative, technical, and corporate procedures and policies to ensure the successful operation of the project on a profitable basis.
- Delegate assignments and activities to the Project Managers.
- Direct and manage the activities of Project Engineers, Project Assistants and support personnel in the planning, scheduling, design quality and execution of projects.
- Work closely with the Office Project Director in order to prioritize project work, resources ans ensure proper staff development
- Assume full responsibility for the successful execution of each assigned project for schedule compliance, budget compliance, and scope and quality of deliverables.
- Build relationships and coordinate with the client and project personnel.
- Ensure the client's input and job requirements are adequately addressed and implemented consistently with the contractual requirements.
- Organize and supervise the implementation of project management systems and corporate quality systems.
- Maintain a documentation file, accurately describing all commercial, technical, and financial correspondence.
- Prepare and evaluate progress reports, describing the schedule, manpower expenditures and work scope for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Ensure invoices are processed timely and accurately. Act as a liaison between the client and the accounting department on outstanding invoices.
- Identify and document that Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) are being processed in a timely fashion where additional work is available.
- Develop new business opportunities as a by-product of relationship with clients. Participate in business development meetings.
- Plan and identify upcoming tasks, potential problem areas, technical information, staffing priorities and identify solutions where necessary.
- Responsible to maintain proper staff levels to meet project requirements. Actively recruit and train personnel for project, as necessary.
- Develop, coach and track employee skill level in technical and work management areas.
- Develops project proposals, proposal scopes of work, and budgets.
- Performs field walk downs and data collection. Position necessitates field activities, some climbing, and occasional travel.
Job Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience, most being in project execution
- Experienced in managing a portfolio of projects ranging from small to mid-cap projects.
- Strong communication and inter-personal skills are required to provide effective intra and inter-discipline coordination on projects, as well as effective communication with clients and vendors.
- Must be organized, self-directed, able to prioritize and multi-task, work in a team environment and take direction from others.
- Willingness to learn and work on a variety of tasks within multiple industries.
- Willingness to travel and work in office and field environments.
- Must maintain active status in a drug and/or alcohol testing consortium.
- Full and ongoing compliance with and adherence to all vaccination requirements, as may be established by the company from time to time or by or for a particular job site.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 3 years experience in the Process Plant, Petroleum Refining, and / or Petrochemical Sector.
- Experience executing projects autonomously with limited supervision from a Sr. PM or Project Director
