JOB TITLE: Quality Control Technician/Supervisor
LOCATION: Polymer Plant
REPORTS TO: Polymer Plant Manager
DEPARTMENT: Quality
SUMMARY:
A Quality Control Technician is responsible for maintaining quality assurance processes, testing of products, and recording and analyzing of results gathered. The QC Technician works closely with production employees here at Concast. Throughout the work they do, the QC tech ensures that wastes are minimized. Always focusing on improved productivity during production and meet quality and efficiency standards. The QC Tech is detail oriented, willing to keep excellent records, and has good communication skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Perform daily quality assurance activities for the facility, inspecting and testing product and materials as required by the Quality Control Manual and third-party agency requirements
· Ability to communicate quality related issues to the Management Team
· Effectively identify defects to finished products
· Effectively identify missteps in the production/preparation processes
· Ability to correctly identify parts by their manufacturing number
· Basic/Advanced Math, Literacy skills
· Ability to use a tape measure and read shop drawings
· Ensure product labeling/stenciling conforms
· Recommend repairs for product, as needed
· Perform product inspections prior to shipment
· Perform daily form inspections due to the high heats from curing
· Ability to patch, and other repairable procedures on minor product defects
· Ability to use Microsoft Office 365, and other team-sharing related software
· Well organized and self-motivating
· Assist Quality Manager with complying to all third-party requirements
· Back up the Quality Control Manger in the event they are out of the plant
· Maintain current knowledge of Thermosets and chemical exposure limits
· Bilingual a plus – Able to communicate effectively with all team members
· Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required
- High School diploma (or equivalent) with 1+ years Composites Manufacturing or Thermosets experience or related industry or, Associate degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, Production, Quality Systems or related field
- Bachelors’ degree preferred
- Demonstrated ability to properly use (Scales, Viscometer, Thixotropic meter, Barcol impressor, Gel Timer)
- Written and oral communication skills
- Ability to effectively implement and utilize process and procedures
- Basic knowledge of effective and efficient quality & continuous improvement methods
- Basic knowledge of company product, policies and procedures
- Interpersonal & organizational skills
- Proven problem-solving skill set
- Basic mathematical ability
- Ability to operate a computer and supporting software packages
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to analyze process variance, recommend a course of action and effectively implement solutions with a team
- Basic understanding of the risks involved with the following chemicals-
Acetone, Unsaturated Resins and/or Catalysts and other organic peroxides
Preferred
· Familiarity with workplace health and safety concepts
· QC Management experience.
· A Bachelor's degree in science or business-based programs.
· 5+ years in a Quality assurance or quality control position or Supervisory Role
· Applicable Certification in Quality
· PCI Personnel Certification

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: Able to handle and work in all weather conditions
- Industrial Thermosets environment
- Frequent walking/standing (6+ hrs./day)
- Frequent lifting (up to 10 lbs.)
- Infrequent lifting with partner (up to 100 lbs.)
- Max lift (up to 60 lbs.)
- Use of a respirator while in high-risk areas
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
