Our correctional facility is seeking a
Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team in
Tyler, TX. The Correctional Nurse will provide nursing care to incarcerated individuals and support the overall health and wellness of the inmate population.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct health assessments of incarcerated individuals, including physical exams, health histories, and screenings.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the medical provider.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitor patients for signs of physical and mental health deterioration, and report any concerns to the medical provider.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, following facility and state guidelines.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid and life support as needed.
- Educate incarcerated individuals on health-related issues, including disease prevention and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Follow all safety and security protocols established by the facility.
Requirements:
- Must possess a current and valid RN or LVN/LPN license in the state of Texas.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
