The University of Pittsburgh Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) is seeking a Telephone Screener for the Pitt+Me® Research Registry and the All of Us PA Research Program. The Registry Screener is able to handle a variety of incoming and outgoing phone calls related to each program. Must be flexible and able to adjust to different types of calls throughout the day. Specific responsibilities for both projects will include answering and placing calls to participants who have expressed an interest in research studies, screening participants for appropriate studies, referring participants to study personnel, scheduling participant visits, following up with study personnel on disposition of participants referred, and recruiting the general public into Pitt+Me® and All of Us PA programs. All of Us PA phone calls may include a variety of appointment related phone calls including, reminder phone calls, no show phone calls, calls to participants on waiting lists. Outgoing phone calls will utilize automated outbound dialing software to participants who have expressed interest. Performance is monitored for quality and customer service but no cold calling involved or quotas.While making phone calls, candidate must be comfortable, utilizing and logging information in multiple systems during phone calls. Excellent customer service skills and a positive and enthusiastic demeanor are necessary to be successful in the position. Medical terminology and previous research experience preferred but not required. Requires strict adherence to confidentiality and maturity in dealing with sensitive subjects and medical questions/topics. Position will be work from home, requires high speed internet access sufficient for phone calls, and a private work location due to the confidential nature of telephone calls . A successful candidate is self-motivated, has the ability to work well in a fast paced environment, works with diverse populations and communicates effectively.
Experience in a clinical research setting that included contact with human research participants preferred. Successful candidates must possess excellent phone skills, customer service skills and be comfortable switching between and entering data into multiple systems while on the phone with participants.A combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
