Eastridge Workforce Solutions is hiring a Benchmarking Scientist in the San Diego area. The main purpose of this job is developing research targets, design research projects, and analyze data to achieve customer research goals on time and on budget.


Essential Functions

  • Electrode formation design and development for high voltage (>4.4V) and/or high nickel content NMC cathode cell chemistry to achieve long cycle/calendar life
  • Electrode formulation design and development for Si/C, SiO/C high-capacity anode cell chemistry to achieve long cycle/calendar life
  • Maintain library record and provide instruction to technician for experiment execution
  • Analyze the data and prepare reports for internal/external update

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Deep knowledge in variety of electrochemical techniques (CV, EIS, GITT, PITT) for battery diagnostics
  • Strong verbal and written communication, teamwork, and project management skills
  • Effective time management in a semi-autonomous environment with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Self-motivated and a team player

Education & Experience

  • Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, physics or other relevant discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years experience in lithium-ion battery research, development, or failure/root cause analysis
