Role Value Proposition:

This position is within the Latin America (LATAM) Controllers Department. The position is responsible for (1) monthly and quarterly close analysis and reporting results for LATAM segment and (2) quarterly coordination and review/completion of GAAP footnotes and other key deliverables for SEC filing requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and/or consolidate monthly and quarterly analysis including, trends, actual versus projection and comparison to prior periods.
• Analyze country results and other analysis as required.
• Assist in handling of routine accounting issues.
• Partner with LATAM country finance teams to understand the drivers of the business and the ability to translate these into meaningful financial analytics.
• Consolidate analytics in preparation and support of the LATAM GAAP Executive Summary package.
• Coordinate submission of close related deliverables with the countries in LATAM
• Complete review, update and submission of quarterly GAAP footnote templates and other disclosures.
• Comply with required SOX controls related to LATAM segment, including review and updates to controls on a needed basis.
• Identify and implement improvements to controls and financial reporting processes
• Participate in special projects as required.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required

• 2 to 4 + years accounting and/or Finance Experience in a public or private company environment.
• Strong accounting knowledge and general understanding of reinsurance concepts.
• Prior experience in financial reporting, intercompany transactions, maintaining and executing ad-hoc and standard reports preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office software packages, including an intermediate knowledge of Excel.
• Excellent oral and written communication / interpersonal skills.
• Able to manage time efficiently and prioritize responsibilities and meet company deadlines.

Preferred

• BA in finance or accounting preferred.
• Knowledge of PeopleSoft General Ledger a plus.
• Fluency in Spanish a plus.
• Proficiency in Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), Essbase/CUBUS & SmartView is preferred.
