General Summary: The SOAR specialist will work with members in the Organization’s housing programs to gather appropriate supporting documentation to apply for Supplemental Security Income (SSI)/ Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits through the SS/SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recovery process. Qualified candidates will have experience in eligibility screening for government funded benefits programs, medical records management, and other administrative duties.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Will work with members that have expressed interest in applying for social security benefits.
- Will coordinate with health and behavioral health care providers to obtain documentation of the member’s historical record of care.
- Ensures accuracy of all completed applications.
- Required to enter all applications in the Online Application Tracker (OAT) and maintain updates accordingly.
- Will be required to document services provided in an Electronic Health Record and maintain a productivity standard.
- Will be required to work collaboratively with other team mates to ensure effective and efficient services are being delivered to members.
- Responsible for following any policies, procedures, and controls established by the organization, the HIPAA Privacy Officer, and/or the HIPAA Security Officer regarding access to, protection of, and the use of the PHI.
- Performs other duties as assigned or necessary as they relate to the general nature of the position.
- Education – Associate degree in administrative related field; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience – Three (3) years of work experience in administration, eligibility screening, and/or medical records management.
- Certification - SSI/SSDI Outreach Access and Recovery (SOAR) Certification.
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- DPS Level I fingerprint clearance (must possess upon hire and maintain throughout employment).
- CPR, First Aid, AED certification, if required (must possess upon hire and maintain throughout employment).
- Current, valid Arizona Driver’s License and 39-month Motor Vehicle Report and proof of vehicle registration liability insurance to meet insurance requirements, if required.
- Initial current negative TB test result, if required (Employer provides).
