Responsibilities:
- Engage with select groups of youth (K-12th) members every week
- Utilize techniques to gain control of the program group and ensure members are fully engaged
- Effectively communicate instructions, rules, goals, and expectations to our members for each program
- Plan, coordinate, and operate soccer leagues
- Effectively communicate with families and league players
- Collaborate with supporting staff to provide a high-quality product to participants
- Maintain a flexible mentality to adapt to changing circumstances
- Work closely with administrative staff to organize registration and team structure
- Plan and implement additional sports & recreation programs
- Program plans should incorporate the 5 Key Elements, follow member program schedules, and meet the overall goals of the organization
- Provide positive feedback, encouragement, and recognition for members
- Track and report attendance in programs & leagues along with additional data as needed
- Visit up to two (2) school locations per day during the week (with gas stipend)
- Review needs of students with program staff and refer families to services as needed
- Complete any organizational training as needed
- Meet regularly with supervisor: Director of Sports and Recreation
- Support regular on-site staff as needed
- Work closely with Youth Development Assistants, school staff, families, and volunteers during site hours
- Transport and escort members on field trips
- Become a 12-passenger van certified to provide member transportation when needed
- Maintain efficient and professional communication with community partners, stakeholders, Boys & Girls Club staff, parents, and members
Experience:
- At least one year of youth development or youth mentoring experience
- Sports & Recreation experience preferred
Education:
- High School diploma required
- Associates preferred
- Students studying Sports Management, Business Management, Coaching, Education, Counseling, and Communications are encouraged to apply
