Rate of Pay: $48.12/hour + DOE
Summary:
Performs the nursing process through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of safe therapeutic care to patients in the Multispecialty Clinics by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assesses the physical and psychosocial needs of patients.
- Implements and evaluates individual plan of care.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
- Identifies and provides education to patient and/or significant other.
- Coordinates resources for complete and effective patient care.
- Possesses effective communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Participates in departmental growth and development.
- Rotates between departments as assigned/required
- Pursues professional growth.
- Follows patient care standards.
- Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension.
- Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
- Prepares equipment and aids providers during treatment and examination of patient when required.
- Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient.
- Records significant conditions and reactions and notifies provider of patient’s condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
- Takes blood pressure, pulse, temperature, pulse oximetry and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and to assess condition of patient.
- Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
- Initiates patient education according to individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by provider and/or hospital policy including patient and family instruction.
- Possesses and develops subject matter knowledge and expertise in assigned departments through partnership and mentoring with physicians and Advance Practice Providers (APP).
- Possess the ability to review medical history, clinical information, INR results and the patient’s compliance concerning anticoagulation management and document findings accurately in electronic health record.
- Assists providers with medication management in the electronic medical record system.
- Assists with development and implementation of medication refill protocols.
- Telephone and in-person triage for symptom management.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of chronic disease registries.
- Communicates clearly.
- Establishes and maintains effective, professional working relationships with patients, medical staff, co-workers, and the public.
- Works with MSC Manager/Director on action plans for process improvement and Quality reporting.
- Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior.
- Complies with System policies and procedures.
- Other duties as may be assigned.

Education and Experience
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, and six months to one year related experience and/or training.
Licenses, Certifications:
Current California Registered Nurse license. If scheduled to work in Nevada, current Nevada Registered Nurse license.
Employee will be enrolled in the Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) Basic Life Support (BLS) Entry or Prep Curriculum (depending on their previous BLS certification) which must be completed within three (3) months of hire.
Required if working in department 17094-MSC Urgent Care Olympic Valley: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Workers (BLS) upon hire into job classification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 3 months of hire into job classification. Employee will be enrolled in the Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Entry or Prep Curriculum (depending on their previous ACLS certification) which must be completed within three (3) months of hire.
