SUPERINTENDENT

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement safety procedures to ensure OSHA guidelines are followed
- Maintain and enforce the company’s safety policies
- Coordinate and administer weekly safety meetings with owners, subcontractors, suppliers, and Brycon’s field personnel
- Assist with pre-task plans and toolbox talks
- Provide technical expertise throughout the preconstruction process
- Assist in the management of the preconstruction schedule
- Be involved in project estimates
- Communicate with the Project Manager to keep him or her apprised of the progress of the project and associated issues or problems that may affect the progress
- Obtain project temporary trailer, utilities, access roads, storage facilities, fencing, and other needed Jobsite facilities
- Contact subcontractors, suppliers, and Brycon field personnel to coordinate mobilization
- Review the plans and specifications for constructability and construction schedules and advise the project team of issues or deficiencies
- Create a punch list for subcontractors, suppliers, and Brycon personnel
- Ensure that each item on the list is completed satisfactorily before substantial completion
- Mentor and train other employees
- Review and ensure deliveries/invoices are timely and accurate
- Provide direction to Project Engineer on critical path items to determine priorities to maintain the schedule
- Schedule third-party and city inspections, as assigned by the supervisor
- Test alarm systems and ensure mechanical systems are tested before close-out
- Ensure all certificates and final inspections have been obtained before the project close-out
- Prepare and submit RFIs / Assist in writing RFIs
- Review submittals for accuracy
- Prepare a three-week look-ahead schedule weekly for distribution to the Project Manager, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Prepare/submit field crew timesheets
- Attend owner’s meetings
- Obtain and maintain dust control certificate
- Schedule and complete AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) inspections
- Maintain and document Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPP)
- Manage self-perform scopes of work
- Provide input/review of the CPM project schedule
- Maintain job site Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Interface with client/client relations
- Other job duties as assigned
- Employees may be required to work extended hours (more than 8 hours per day), weekends, and holidays. Employees will be compensated based on guidelines in the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of 6 construction experience
- Minimum of 3 in a supervisory capacity
- Conflict resolution skills
- Proficient in reading all discipline drawings/specifications (e.g., civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical)
- Valid driver’s license
- This is a safety-sensitive position; the candidate must complete and pass a background check and ten-panel drug/alcohol testing
