Test Technician

The Role:

As a Test Technician, you will be working with the creative and technical forces behind the design and development team of new power conversion systems. Your knowledge of processes, production testing, complex problem-solving skills, and high-quality standards will ensure products meet EPC’s high-quality standards. This position requires solid interpersonal & team skills, demonstrated talent, a strong self-motivation and self-starting attitude, and an enthusiasm that starts in the design phase and continues until the product is successfully operating to the customers’ requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Sets up and performs tests as directed in accordance with applicable industry and company standards
  • Understands how to properly follow laboratory technical procedures and test specifications
  • Ensures that tests are performed exactly according to published specifications unless informed otherwise by manager or engineer
  • Assembles appropriate tools and test equipment, and follows written specifications necessary for the proper performance of the test
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of test standards, product test procedures, and instrumentation
  • Accurately observes and records test progression and results. Organizes and documents data for each assigned project
  • Periodically assist with troubleshooting and development modifications
  • Identifies that correct calibration instrumentation is used for production validation
  • Applies the principles of 5S (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) in the performance of daily work responsibilities to ensure a clean, orderly, and safe work area
  • Abides by and ensures that all duties are performed in accordance with all Safety, Health and Quality practices, policies, and procedures
  • Work with a cross functional team

Required skills:

  • Three-Five plus years of related electronics production test experience in a manufacturing or test lab required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of basic principles of electrical, electronic theory or power electronics
  • Excellent manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and wire schematics
  • Familiarity with various mechanical and electrical measuring equipment
  • Commitment to high quality standards
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate testing requirements, some weekends as needed
  • Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to create, comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions is a must
  • Ability to understand and follow all safety requirements
  • Proficient in standard and metric systems
  • Strong computer literacy skills, knowledgeable of MS Office tools
  • Must be a self-starter, team player, work well with others and have a positive attitude

  • Must be organized & detail oriented
  • Ability to troubleshoot failures
  • Mechanically inclined - Able to set up test units
  • Wiring experience - Able to set up and wire test equipment
  • Familiarity working with high voltage equipment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.07 - $31.32 per hour
