Position Overview

Responsibilities include performing an array of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, managing, organizing, and retrieving stock in the warehouse/assembly/repair of electrical tooling. The goal is to increase efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

The primary purpose of this job is to test, inspect, and repair electrical components. Also, to support the goals and objectives of various departments through a sense of urgency and an eye for quality to ensure that all products are assembled to meet customer specifications.

As part of the Siemens Energy family, this position is often required to move between other departments to help cover gaps and ensure the timely delivery of products to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and complete orders for delivery according to schedule (load, pack, label)
  • Assemble / disassemble / test / inspect various types of electrically powered tooling
  • Read, interpret, and follow engineering drawings, specifications, bill of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to assemble tooling accurately.
  • Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high
  • Ensure safety is a number one priority and that lock out tag out practices are utilized properly
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
  • Complete diary logs into inventory
  • Report any discrepancies
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
  • Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment
  • Use of measuring equipment and handheld tools such as tape measure, wrenches, drills, impacts, etc.
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Electrical Certification
  • Knowledge of electrical repair/function
  • Ability to read/decipher blueprints and technical drawings
  • Proficiency in inventory software, databases, and systems
  • Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (~50lbs at most)
  • Current forklift license or ability to pass internal forklift examination
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Basic computer navigation and utilization skills
  • OSHA 10 (to be provided).

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office and Basic PC
  • Military experience a plus

Working Conditions:

  • The humidity/heat level will be elevated during the summer months. Indoor facility with moving air.
  • Exposure to specific contaminants throughout work should be expected infrequently. PPE provided if necessary.
  • Exposure to loud noise levels, earplugs are provided and recommended.
  • Safety glasses are always required on the shop floor.
  • Steel toe or composite toe shoes are always required on the shop floor.

Physical Demands:

  • Must have a full range of motion and be able to kneel and bend for extended periods as the task may require.
  • This position requires continual use of your hands, considerable use of your arms and legs, and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
  • This position requires long periods of standing
  • The use of safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hardhats, and hearing protection, is utilized daily.
  • This position requires lifting and maneuvering 50lbs. Without physical restrictions and up to 70lbs. with the assistance of lifting equipment or other team members
  • This is a 40 hour per week job with occasional mandatory overtime.
