Job Overview
The Warehouse Operations Manager oversees and directs activities regarding the efficient receipt, storage, shipping, and inventory accuracy for Jeni’s e-commerce, wholesale direct, and scoop shop channels. The Warehouse Operations Manager contributes to the success of Jeni’s by embracing a continuous improvement mindset which includes designing and developing efficient product movement and storage systems and supporting the warehouse staff. Responsibilities include cost efficiency, continuous improvement of processes, inventory management, and safety. This individual is responsible for managing work through a team of floor leads.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Builds people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, and communication for hourly personnel.
- Develops team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short and long-term performance goals.
- Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements, adherence to an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
- Develops and implements processes for the receipt, storage and shipment of product, equipment utilization, and inventory management with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Collects, analyzes, and uses data to create staffing plans, budgets, and operational metrics.
- Ensures accurate inventory at Columbus warehouse
- Delivers effective change leadership while driving business changes and minimizing people impact.
- Communicates and collaborates cross-functionally to assist team to solve operational issues.
- Motivates and inspires team members to achieve plan goals.
- Maintains facility per company food grade and federal requirements.
- Troubleshoots all receiving and shipping complaints to find the cause, help resolve the issue, and prevent reoccurrence. Reviews and prepares action plans.
- Administer policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- 3+ years of warehouse/distribution supervisory experience, including directing and training
- Experience measuring inventory performance, accuracy and cycle counting
- Excellent staff management, workload planning, objective setting and organizational skills
- Understanding of warehousing operations with experience in a food distribution (lot code experience) and/or manufacturing environment a plus
- Ability to engage with the workforce and create a positive environment and culture
- PC proficiency with experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
