New England Life Care is hiring a full-time Nursing Support Specialist for our Woburn, MA branch.*
The person in this position is responsible for assisting the Nursing Division teams with office operations as it relates to infusion nursing processes, customer/patient coordination in collaboration with pharmacy, intake, and liaison teams. S/he will provide coordination of care services, monitor, and track clinical documents for internal and external customers. S/he will assist with additional support services as defined by the Nursing Division.

Responsibilities include: *

  • Acts as the central resource for processing clinical care needs for established patients on NELC census.
  • Supports HR, Nursing and Liaisons with clinical document management including credentialing.
  • Responsible for monitoring and tracking nursing orders.
  • Collaborates with Scheduling in the coordination for requested scheduled, missed, rescheduled, reassigned, declined, patient visits.
  • Assists in coordinating services with other home health agencies.
  • Effectively communicates with nursing and scheduling staff to facilitate adequate and timely clinical visits.
  • Comprehensively documents all interactions with patient and members of the healthcare team in the patient record and/or electronic progress notes.
  • Attended and participates in annual in-service programs, workshops, continuing educational programs, seminars, etc.
  • Demonstrate the ability to multi-task and work under pressure with changing priorities and short deadlines and effectively handle a heavy workload which may include assisting other departments within NELC.

Educational Requirements: *

  • Associates Degree or equivalent years of training or work experience.
  • One (1) year of scheduling experience in a home health care organization setting preferred.

Skills: *

  • Communicate both orally and in writing, with clients, clinical and non-clinical personnel.
  • Excellent Organization Skills.
  • Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Working / practical knowledge of microcomputer systems including patient documentation systems, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
  • Dependability in attendance and job performance required.
