Job Summary

This position reports directly to the Director of Finance and is responsible for performing accounts payable related duties, working closely with the Director of Finance in supporting the accounting department. Daily duties include processing checks, ACH, and credit card payments, enter and process invoices, check requests, and credit cards, reconcile statements, resolve balances owed, and balancing batches.

Essential Functions

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

o Review all invoices for accuracy, appropriate documentation, and approval prior to payment

o Code invoices using the chart of accounts

o Enter all invoices, check requests and credit cards into software, Great Plains. Balance the batch

o Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms

o Process checks, ACH, and credit card payments

o 1099 Maintenance

o Assist in month end closing.

o Maintain several excel worksheets

o Entering Accounts Payable Invoices and balance the batch

o Reconcile Vendor Statements and resolve outstanding balances.

o Back up for Accounts Payable desk – post office mail outgoing, Federal Express and UPS

o Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted account practices

Qualifications:

o Minimum of 3 years of accounts payable experience

o Must have a GED or high school diploma

o Understanding of accounts payable and general ledger systems and procedures

o Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, Outlook, and Word

o Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision following standard practices and procedures

o Experience with Document Imaging & Indexing system

o Must be able prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

o Excellent verbal and written communication skills

o Ability to apply common sense to carry out written or oral instructions

o Ability to deal with problems involving variable and standardized situations

Additional ELIGIBILITY Qualifications:

o Great Plains experience preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.40 - $27.60 per hour
